10 Points about the day of Arafat
The day of ‘Arafah is one of the best days of the year, Sayyidna Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu) says: “The day of ‘Arafah equals 10 000 days in virtue” (At-Targheeb, vol. 2 pg.200 and Lataiful Ma’arif, pg.460) “On the day of Arafah, Allah frees even those who are not physically in Arafah. Therefore the next day is Eid for all” (Ibn Rajab -rahimahullah in Lataiful Ma’arif, pg.482) The Day of ‘Arafah has also been labelled as “Yawmul Eid” by Sayyiduna ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhu) as it’s the day in which Allah Ta’ala announced the perfection of Islam. (Sahih Bukhari) Deeds for this Day DO on the Day of ‘Arafah: 1. Fast2. Recite kalimah shahadah a lot3. Excessive Du’a4. Sadaqah DON’T: 1. Persist on Sin (i.e, make tawbah -repent- from all sins)2. Be arrogantThese 2 types of people are deprived on this blessed day.(Ibn Rajab -rahimahullah- in Lataiful Ma’arif, pg.494) Zikr on the Day of ‘Arafah Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) would recite the following abundantly on the day of Arafah: Lailaha illallahu wahdahu lasharika lahu lahul mulku walahul hamdu biyadihil khayru wahuwa ‘ala kuli shayin qadir (Musnad Ahmad; see Majma’uz Zawaid, vol.3 pg.252) Sayyiduna ‘Ali’s (radiyallahu ‘anhu) dua on the Day of ‘Arafah Allahumma a’tiq raqabati minanar wa awsi’li minar rizqil halal, wasrif ‘anni fasaqatil jinni wal insTranslation: O Allah! Free me from the fire, increase my lawful sustenance, and keep away the transgressive Jin and humans from me.(Ibn Abi Dunya, see Lataiful Ma’arif, pg.494) “Fasting on the day of Arafah will expiate the sins of the past and future year.” (Sahih Muslim) Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said:“He who protects his ears, eyes and tongue on this day (Day of ‘Arafah) will be forgiven”(Musnad Ahmad with a reliable with a reliable chain, Majma’uz Zawaid, vol.3 pg.251) Shaytan’s Humiliation The day of ‘Arafah is the day when Shaytan is most humiliated (due to Allah’s extensive forgiveness)(Muwatta Imam Malik, Musnad Ahmad and Ibn Majah, Hadith: 3013) Conclusion All of the above will have real significance to us if we implement it and not just sharing it.May Allah Ta’ala grant us all the tawfiq (ability) to practice on all the above and may He bless us with repeated opportunities of physically being on the plains of ‘Arafat. Ladies Visiting times at the Raudah
🔹Raudah – Ziyarah for Ladies – Official Times🔹 The above pictures detail the official timings released by the Masjid An-Nabawi website. N.B: Do remember that time changes and other similar adjustments are methods of crowd-control and are often utilized according to the volume of the crowds. Therefore, it is always advisable to monitor the situation and to ask the guards at the door. .🔸🔸🔸A small explanation to help us understand what it entails for those handling the Raudah procedures: Indeed, the situation can be very frustrating and for the most part, their strategies of dealing with the crowds often don’t seem to make sense to the onlooker; but, it is actually a product of various crowd-monitoring strategies including cameras etc..It’s important to remember that they are dealing with very large and diverse crowds, with the language barrier being the primary issue in addition to various other cultural issues. Thus the process of managing the crowd for ziyaarah to the Raudah is extremely challenging bearing in mind the space and time constraints, and therefore there seems to be a constant adjustment and implementation of various strategies in an attempt to find a solution.Unfortunately, a lot of the time these changes are arbitrarily done, without any warning, depending on the size and nature of the crowd at that time, and this is what causes these delays or even a complete non entry..The only thing that one can do is to make lots of dua for ease before going, and be prepared to take it as it comes. Alhamdullilah, the waiting time, as frustrating as it can be, and many a times very difficult for those with children or health issues, is also an amazing opportunity to make ibaadah in the Blessed Haram..Many a person has mentioned that taking some Seerah with to read while waiting has proven to be extremely beneficial and spiritually uplifting. Finally – they are open to feedback:-via the website at: http://wmn.gov.sa/ContactUs-visit Door 25 and request to speak to someone or to fill out a form Reposted from @madinahmemos – everything Haramain 💚 Discussion on @journeytohajj Instagram
Q & A
Q. How many days after Hajj is a Haaji’s Duas still accepted for forgiveness? A. A Haaji’s Dua of forgiveness for himself and for others continues from the days of Hajj until the 10th of Rabi-Ul-Awwal which is approximately 90 days. One may continue to request the Haaji to make Dua for himself/herself until the 10th of Rabi-Ul-Awwal. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar Radhiyallahu Anhuma reports, “The Haaji will be forgiven and for whom the Haaji seeks forgiveness, for the remainder of the Month of Zul-Hijjah (20 days from the 10th of Zul-Hijjah), the Month of Muharram (30 days), the Month of Safar (30 days) and 10 days of the Month of Rabi-Ul-Awwal (10 days).”(Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah) Note: The common notion that the Haaji’s Dua is accepted for 40 days from the days of Hajj is unsubstantiated. The Haaji’s Dua being accepted for approximately 90 days from the days of Hajj is substantiated. Battle of Badr
Battlefield Muslims camped behind palm trees 1000 Malaaikah descended on this spot Mushrikeen buried in this well Qabrastan of Shuhadaa of Badr in the far end The Battle of Badr is also known as the Battle of Furqaan – distinguishing between truth and falsehood – share with a friend named FURQAAN Lessons from Battle of Badr (points from Ziyaarat talk with Ml Jeena @madinahmemos) Badr teaches us that its not numbers that matter (sahabah were 313 and mushrikeen were over 1000) Badr teaches us that its not resources that matter(Some sahabah had no arms – some had only sticks yet mushrikeen were armed to the best) Badr teaches that its not being well fed that counts(Sahabah hadnt eaten properly for days yet mushrikeen were slaughtering 10 camels to feed their army) Badr teaches us that its not being well trained that counts(Mushrikeen were all well oiled yet the sahabahs were battle rusty) Badr teaches us that the means are nothing without the permission of Allah Allah has made this world a place of means, cause and effect, asbaab – but the means are nothing without the will of Allah The actual battle field extended until the qabrastan. We know this because martys are buried where they were killed. The sahabahs fought bravely as they were killed far from their camp. 70 mushrikeen were killed. No time to bury them all so Nabi Sallallahu alayhi wa salaam asked for the bodies of the leaders and they were placed in a well. Abdullah bin Masood RA went to look for Abu Jahal at the end of the battle – he cut off his head. Nabi Sallallahu alayhi wa salaam stood at the well where the bodies of mushrikeen were placed and said to the effect – We have found the promise of Allah to be true. He Sallallahu alayhi wa salaam then addressed those dead bodies inside the well and ask them if they also found the promise of Allah to be true (i.e. their torment and suffering). Umar bin Khattab RA asked Nabi Sallallahu alayhi wa salaam if they can hear him (since they are dead). Nabi Sallallahu alayhi wa salaam replied to the effect – they can hear me better than you can hear me. 18 – 19 years ago someone planted some date trees. He reopened the well wherein the mushrikeen were thrown and used that water to irrigate the land. Due to the filth of shikr those trees dies (see pic 2 on the right) When visiting any places and look with an eye of history – we need to look with a heart of understanding and take lessons from these incidents. Jabal e Malaaikha – sandy part is where the angels descended to assist in the battle of Badr photo 3The position of the malaaikah who took part in the battle of Badr are higher that the malaaikah who didnt take part. The highest ranking sahabah arethe Khulafah e Rashideenthe Asharah Mubasharahthe Badriyeen sahabah (those who took part in the battle of Badr)The salafe saliheen mention that if one takes the names of the 313 sahabah who took part in the battle of Badr, their duaas will be accepted. Haaritha ibne Suraaqa asked his mother if he can go to the battle – she reluctantly agrees After the battle his mother enquires about him. Before the battle he walked towards the well and the Muslims thought he was the enemy so an arrow was shot towards him. He was killed. When his mother found out she was disappointed. She went to Nabi Sallallahu alayhi wa salaam and asked him if there was a Jannah for her son. He Sallallahu alayhi wa salaam replied to the effect that her son has many Jannahs. Discussion on @journeytohajj Instagram

Haidh & Hajj
Experiencing Haidh in Hajj Nasihah (Advice): The Haaji – A guest of AllahSayyiduna Abu Hurairah Radiyallahu Anhu says that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “The guests of Allah are three: The Ghazi (one in jihad), the Haaji and the Mu’tamir (person performing Umrah).” (Nasaai) Question and Answer: Q. Can a women perform Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarah in Haidh? Does she have to perform Tawaaf-e-Widaa if she is in Haidh? (Question published as received) A. A woman in the state of menstruation (Haidh) will perform all the rituals of Hajj during the five days of Hajj expect for the following two rituals: Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarah: The performance of Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarah is a compulsory (Fardh) act of Hajj, which is performed after pelting on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah until the 12th of Dhul-Hijjah. A woman in the state of menstruation cannot perform Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarah until her menstruation has terminated. She should wait for her menses to terminate and then perform Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarah even if it terminates after the 12thof Dhul-Hijjah. N.B. If a woman performs Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarah in the state of menstruation, a penalty of a big animal (Badanah) i.e. cow, camel etc. becomes necessary (Waajib) to compensate for it. In doing so, the performance of Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarah will be fulfilled and the Hajj would be completed. Tawaaf-e-Widaa: The performance of Tawaaf-e-Widaa is a necessary (Waajib) act of Hajj for non-residents of Makkah, which is performed before departing from Makkah Mukarramah after performing all the rituals of Hajj. A woman in the state of menstruation is exempt from performing Tawaaf-e-Widaa, if she has completed all her rituals of Hajj and it is time to depart. In such a case, no form of penalty will apply. Maximise rewards during Hajj/Umrah
1. Check your intention before carrying out any task. 2. Engage in Zikr (the remembrance of Allah), even when carrying out simple tasks such as purchasing food. 3. When entering or leaving the Masjid, pass on 2 glasses (1 in each hand for convenience)of Zam Zam to elderly folk nearby or anybody else who may ask for it. 4. Remove litter and unpleasant items from the pathways, especially at the mubarak Masjids and the neighbouring areas. 5. Remember to greet other fellow Muslimahs with full salaam and a cheerful smile. 6. Show kindness and motivate other Muslimahs who may be experiencing hardships or simply missing home. Try to ease her plight and gain the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala Insha Allah. 7. Purchase musallahs, tasbeehs or even simply miswaak bundles and distribute to other fellow Muslimahs. Remember that their duas may grant you an accepted Umrah or Haj. 8. Guard yourself and your nafs. Do not take part in Zina. Allah Ta’ala’s curse is on whoever looks and whoever is looked at. Watch your temper and think before you speak. Guard your Ibadat, as the miserable Shaytaan is waiting to ruin us all. Insha Allah, Allah Ta’ala will protect us. Ameen. 9. Purchase Quran’s in the mubarak cities and add these to the shelves at the masjids in Makkahtul Mukarramah and Madinatul Munawwarah. 10. Bottled water is another simple, yet effective way of passing on charity. No act is too small, even in sharing a (kajoor) date will earn you reward, Insha Allah. 11. Make Niyyah when entering the masjid for Allah Ta’ala to please accept your time in the masjid as I’tikaaf and enter with the right foot. 12. Upon donning the Hijab, make Niyyah to Allah Ta’ala to please grant you the thawab of jihad in the path of Islam, to make you an ambassador for Islam, to use you for Dawah of Islam and to protect you from the gazes of strange men. 13. Sponsor a hafez in Madinatul Munawwarah and Makkah tul Mukarramah 14. Ask your guide on how to go about slaughtering an animal with the intention to feed the people, for your thawab or on behalf of somebody else. Discussion on @journeytohajj Instagram
